Check Mate Photograph on watercolor paper 2001 Digital cameras have their place, and this night time jewelry store window wasn't one of them. The store's closed, 'cause it's late at night, so all the jewels and stuff has been removed from the window, leaving only this interesting glass prism display. The resulting digital photo (on a tripod - it was quite dark) was much less interesting than the real subject, so I parked the image for a while in my file of "stuff" that didn't work. Later, I experimented with adding color to the otherwise lifeless image, and this composition resulted. The shape in the center is a fractal, which somehow looked interesting in this connection. Nikon digital camera, (The Sony ones make vastly better pictures in low light like this) at 2.1 megapixels. |
